Hyperloop VR 1.0

The VR application provides an immersive exploration of the innovative advancements developed by the Delft Hyperloop team. Compatible with mobile VR headsets and Google Cardboard, it offers users an opportunity to virtually experience the Hyperloop concept in a detailed and interactive manner.

Key features include:

• An interior view of the Delft Hyperloop pod, allowing users to sit inside and observe the design
• Interactive points identified by a pointer dot to activate various informational experiences
• Exploded views that facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the pod’s technological components

The experience does not require controllers; however, for optimal engagement, it is recommended to use headphones.

This VR app was developed collaboratively with the Delft Hyperloop team and was first showcased during their pod unveiling event on June 30th in Delft, Netherlands.

Understanding the Hyperloop:

The Hyperloop represents a cutting-edge transportation technology aiming for rapid long-distance travel by combining the convenience of trains with the speed of aircraft. While conventional high-speed trains connect cities like Amsterdam and Paris in over three hours, the Hyperloop promises to reduce this journey time to approximately thirty minutes, with operational speeds reaching up to 1200 km/h.

The concept originated from a whitepaper published by Elon Musk’s SpaceX in 2013. Building upon this vision, TU Delft Engineers developed a functional prototype of the pod. This prototype is scheduled for testing in California early next year as part of the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition.
